Caregiver Highlights

This October, we are excited to shine a spotlight on one of our most dedicated and loyal caregivers, Chris White. Since the early days of Peace at Homecare, Chris has been an integral part of our team, embodying the values of compassion, commitment, and excellence that define our mission. His journey with us began right at the inception of Peace at Homecare, and throughout the years, his unwavering dedication has left a lasting impact on both his clients and colleagues.

Chris’s caregiving career began well before he joined Peace at Homecare. For years, he worked independently, providing home care services on his own. When Moira launched Peace at Homecare, Chris was eager to be a part of it. After working independently, he welcomed the opportunity to join a team, appreciating the sense of community and support that comes with it.

When we reached out to one of his client’s family regarding his Caregiver of the Month achievement, they were eager to share their appreciation and express how deserving he is of this recognition. One family member shared: "I could write a book about the quality care he provided for my mom and how much it helped her and our family!" Chris cared for their mother for over four years after she had suffered a stroke, which required 24-hour care. They went on to explain: "Chris managed to provide stability, activity, humor, and joy in my mom’s life at a time when her life had become very challenging. He took my mom on daily outings as much as possible. When she was up for it, he took her to the zoo, the NY State Fair, Green Lakes, out to lunch, to kids' sporting events, and even a family wedding at Lake Ontario. When she was feeling less able, he would simply take her out for a drive." The family expressed how Chris became more than just a caregiver—he became a part of their family. They said: "We did not have to worry about Mom when Chris was caring for her. We knew she was safe, cared for, and loved. We can’t thank him enough for the care he provided to my mom—he certainly deserves to be celebrated!"

In his free time, Chris enjoys staying active with workouts, cooking, and spending quality time with his family. He loves traveling, especially to the Caribbean and Cape Cod, and always makes sure to spend at least one week by the ocean each year. When he's not outdoors, Chris is a fan of classic films, with The Shawshank Redemption being a favorite.

We are truly honored to celebrate Chris as our Caregiver of the Month. His dedication, kindness, and tireless efforts make a world of difference to our clients and our team. Chris, thank you for the care and compassion you bring to your work each and every day!
